When you become an India Foundation Child Sponsor, you will help a child break free from the cycle of poverty and gift the child a future full of hope. It is also a relationship that extends to the child's family and the community. For about $25 / month, you can make a lasting impact on the life of a poor child.

	When You Sponsor: Your sponsorship will provide a needy child, life's essentials like education, food, books, and other basic healthcare. Together we can build a nation free of poverty and give India's children a better future. You'll have the satisfaction of making a big difference in many precious lives. Child sponsorship is therefore a long-term, meaningful relationship between you and a needy child! Therefore you are changing a child's life by changing the world to which he/she belongs.

How Child Sponsorship Works: When a Sponsor decides to help a needy child, the first step is to browse through the India Foundation (IF) For Children Education and Care photo gallery and select a child from our list. Then, the Sponsor pledges to support the child for just one year through a regular monthly contribution of $25 per month. Your contribution provides the student with school tuition, uniforms, books, school supplies, etc. for one year.

When you become a child Sponsor, you will receive a photo of the child along with the child's story and background details. Sponsors will be updated about their child's progress through annual progress reports. The Sponsor can correspond with the sponsored child through letters/emails.

Thus, Child Sponsorship enables a one-to-one relationship between the sponsor and the child, helping sponsors in making a big difference in the lives of children, their families and entire communities through a small, regular contribution.

Income Tax Exemption: IF is registered as a Non-profit organization (Tax ID Number # 84-1703264). Donations to IF in the USA are 100% tax-deductible under Section 501(c)3 of the IRS Code. Astha Vikas Samiti in India is also a registered charitable society offering tax exemption benefits to its donors for all contributions, under section 80-G of the Income Tax Act in India. The Annual Receipt of Contributions received in USA and India is promptly sent to donors allowing each one of them to claim this benefit.
